Caterpillar Earthmoving Equipment - Modern CAT Machines


CAT has been around starting 19th century, when Benjamin Holt and Daniel Best experimented on different ways the steam tractors can be used for farm or agricultural work. Before the year 1925, it was the family of Holt that pioneered machineries such as gasoline engines and track tractors. These were the predecessors of the Caterpillar earthmoving equipment.

Holt and Best collaborated and created their own company, which had a number of changes until the Second World War, when their company saw phenomenal growth. This saw the great demand for Caterpillar earthmoving equipment and the rise of the company into a major force in the machinery industry.

Today, CAT is widely recognized all over the world as a major manufacturer of Caterpillar earthmoving equipment and machinery. CAT machines include hydraulic excavators, track type tractors, motor graders, backhoes, off road trucks, tractors, wheel loaders, gas and diesel engines as well as gas turbines.
